Striped Bass before heading to Block Island. The Fluke fishing around Block was very slow. We only had a couple of keepers, but did manage a nice handful of SeaBass. The second day we started of SeaBassing and had tons of action, but we had to work through the shorts to find the keepers. From there we worked towards Montauk Fluking the rest of the day and had plenty of action, but the keepers were hard to come by. We did have some quality SeaBass and some Porgies in the mix.

Fri June 21 to Sun June 23 - Georges Bank Cod & Nantucket Fluke
Captain Steven Jr reports on the Viking Fivestar that they had a phenomenal first day Fluking and a very tough day Cod fishing. We started off on the Nantucket Fluke grounds and had great action all day with some amazing quality sized fish. Most fish averaged 4-6 pounds and we had over 35 fish from 8-10 pounds and 5 fish from 10-12 pounds and a 13.4 pound personal best for angler, Bruce Wahl. By the end of the day everyone had a load of big fluke.
Day 2 we decided to go Cod fishing on Coxes Ledge due to the slow fishing reports coming from anglers on Georges Bank. We didn't find much better results on Coxes Ledge as they were having on Georges Bank. We covered a lot of ground from 180 feet of water up to 60 feet of water and we seemed to have Dogfish harassing us everywhere we went. We only managed a few Cod keepers and a mess of sharks. The Fluke fishing on the Nantucket Fluke Grounds is the best you will see anywhere in the Northeast. If you're looking to target and land your personal best then book on a trip heading to the Nantucket Fluke Grounds. The Viking Fleet has 3 trips already planned aboard the Viking Star leaving Montauk Sunday July 7th, Sunday July 14th and Sunday July 21st. The Viking Fivestar is also available for select dates this summer to target the fish of your choice. Contact our ticketing office at 631-668-5700 for more information and to speak to a private charter specialist.

Sun June 16 - Inshore Charter
Capt Steven Jr reports a good trip with solid action all morning. We had lots of Blues and small Bass keeping the rods bent the whole trip. Unfortunately we didn't get the big fish that we saw yesterday, but we managed to get a few keeper Bass out of it.

Fri May 31 - Striped Bass/ Fluke Charter
Capt Carl reports a lot of action on the Fivestar charter this morning. We started jigging up Bluefish and had 1 keeper Bass. After that we switched to Fluke where we had a lot of action with keepers up to 8 lbs. We also had a bunch of SeaBass that were returned unharmed! The crew thanks the great group of guys onboard!!
Mon May 20 - 2 Day Georges Bank Cod/Haddock/Pollock
2 Day Georges Bank Cod/Haddock/Pollock
5/17/19-5/19/19
Capt Steven Jr reports that we got down to George's this weekend and honestly it was a really tough grind. Day one the open bottom was dead and it wasn’t until early afternoon before we found a couple Cod and some Haddock on the wrecks. The second day we went strictly wreck fishing and had better action and found a handful of Cod and jumbo Cunners on all the wrecks but not any great numbers. The weather was beautiful but the full moon tide made fishing the wrecks tough. Hopefully some bait and life moves into the open bottom areas and things improve.
Due to the weather this weeks Tile/Cod trip has been canceled but the weekend weather is looking good and we have openings for inshore charters. So grab some buddies and come enjoy the holiday weekend on the water.
Give us a call at the office for openings and trip info (631)668-5700.
