Wed Oct 13 - 30 to 50 Mile Wreck Trip

Capt Steven Jr reports that after a phenomenal Tuna season we are getting back into our fall bottom fishing mode.
Yesterday was our first 30-50 mile wreck trip and we had a great day of fishing to start things off. We had the quality but not the quantity in the deeper water, so we ran to shallower water had both quality and quantity. Before long we had a load of Jumbo Seabass and we made a few quick stops on the way in looking for a few Cod. At the end of the day everyone had their limit of jumbo Seabass and we had around 25 Cod on the boat.
We have a few openings on tomorrow’s trip and the weather looks beautiful!!! Black fish season begins tomorrow and we are looking forward getting out there.
We will be sailing every Friday, Saturday and Sunday on our Block Island Seabass, Tog and Cod trips and every Wednesday on our 30-50 Mile Wreck Specials!
Trips are filling up quick and we only have limited open spots on the 29th and 31st for October. We do have openings during the week for charters as well. For all booking and trip info you can go to vikingfleet.com or give us a call at (631)668-5700.

Mon Aug 16 - Viking Fivestar Offshore Tuna

The great fishing continues!!
We have had excellent fishing the last couple trips with quality Yellow Fin and Swords. The trip before last we had a good shot of Yellows a few Albacore and 3 nice Swords. On our most recent trip we had our limit of quality Yellows up to 105lbs a half a dozen Albacore and 1 Sword.
Our most recent trip we picked away at quality Yellows for an afternoon of trolling but the night bite made the trip. We anchored up and had our first small Yellow in less then an hour. Most of the night was a random pick of a couple smaller fish until around 3 am and it was lock and load on the jigs with fish averaging 40-60lbs. Around 5:30 we started pulling the anchor while we still had fish on and made our way home early.
It was great to see some fish at night and hoping that continues into the fall. We are headed back out this afternoon and looking to do it all over again.
