Sun Nov 27 - Block Island Bottom - Cod & Sea Bass

Capt Steven Sr reports that we began our day right where we left yesterday and unfortunately the dogs moved in over night.  We worked around the dogfish and put together a decent catch of cod and sea bass.  On the last drop of the day over 30 keepers came over the rail.  Despite the dogfish, loads of jumbo sea bass and a great pick of cod were caught; that kept us cutting for over an hour at the dock.

Sat Nov 26 - Block Island Bottom - Cod/Sea Bass/Blackfish

Capt Steven Sr would like to thank Richard Harrison for putting together a great group of guys.  The blackfish were picky in the morning and made us work.  But once we found them, we got them good with lots of quality blackfish caught.  We picked up and moved to another spot where we found a nice pile of cod and sea bass.  Overall it was a fine day of fishing!

Sat Nov 19 - Rusty Belly

Capt Steven Jr reports we had another good trip! Black fishing was a bit picky to start but we ended up with a full limit of quality fish! Sea bassing was a little slower then it has been with lots of scup everywhere we went. But we ended up with a nice load of sea bass and a good handful of cod for just a couple quick drops in the after noon.
The weather is going to keep us at the dock here for the next few days but we are hoping it drops out in time for Wednesday’s 30-50 mile wreck trip. We do have some open spots on that trip so call the office to get on before it fills up!

Fri Nov 18 - Rusty Belly

Capt Steven Jr reports that we ended up with a good day of fishing today, but it took some work. Black fishing was a good pick all day and we ended up with what we needed by mid day with a couple nice ones. The sea bass took a couple of drops to find the right sized stuff. In the end we had a nice load of quality sea bass.

Thur Nov 17 - 30-50 Mile Wreck Cod/Sea Bass

Capt Steven Jr reports another great trip fishing the offshore wrecks with a load of big sea bass, a nice shot of cod and some other wreck dwellers in the mix. We had some dogs on the shallower wrecks but everyone was pretty well loaded up by then. We weighed one of the bigger sea bass of the day and it weighed in at 6.8 lbs! The cod were good sized as well and we had a mix of scup, ling and hake too!

Mon Nov 14-Block Island Bottom-Cod, Sea Bass, Blackfish

We had another good trip fishing around Block. We started off sea bassing on our first drop where we had good fishing everywhere we went. Everyone had their limit of nice sea bass and some scup in the mix, but the cod were scarce again, but we did find a few. Then we went inshore black fishing and had a couple fish on each drop, but the super moon tide into the wind had everything screwed up. It was tough conditions but we still put a good day together.

Sun Nov 13 - Rusty Belly

Rusty Belly
Capt Steven Sr reports we put together a good day considering the rough conditions with a strong westerly wind. Our first few drops were a pick, but our last drop was very good with a couple fish from 7-10 lbs with everyone getting their limit. We were only able to make one drop on a wreck the way home due to rough conditions and caught a handful of sea bass, a couple of cod and some weakfish.

Sat Nov 12 - Block Island Bottom - Cod/Sea Bass/Blackfish

Capt Steven Jr. reports that we put together another good day of bottom fishing on the Viking Fivestar. The sea bass are back to chewing their heads off after last weeks ground swell that slowed the bite down. Black fishing got a bit better too, around Block we're seeing a bunch more keepers then we have been. The cod fish remain far and few in between, only seeing a couple keepers and a handful of shorts. But the sea bass fishing sent everyone home with a load of fillets.

Thur Nov 10 - 30 to 50 Mile Wreck Specia

Capt Steven Jr reports that we had a phenomenal wreck trip today!! We only had to make 2 drops to have the boat loaded with jumbo sea bass! We made a third drop to look for a couple more cod and ended up releasing a bunch of big sea bass. There was a better sign of cod today on the wrecks and we had a couple ling, hake, scup and some blues come up. We came in a little early today because the coolers were full!! Good to see some quality cod around and I think we could have had more if we could have gotten through all of the sea bass. Looking forward to getting back out there!

Wed Nov 9 - Block Island Bottom – Cod/Sea Bass/ Blackfish

Capt Steven reports that we had another picky day fishing around Block today. We had a couple of fish everywhere we went and found better fishing as the day went on. In the end everyone had a nice load of sea bass with some cod and scup in the mix.

Tue Nov 8 - Rusty Belly

Capt Steven Jr reports that we sailed with light crowd and put together a decent catch today on the Viking Fivestar. The black fishing had slower action then we saw on our last trip. But by mid day everyone had their limit of black fish with a couple fish around 8 lbs. Then we shot offshore to go sea bassing the bite was slower than it has been. We checked a lot of spots and only found a few fish here and there. We had a big ground swell from the east which seemed to effect the fishing.

Sat Nov 5 - Block Island Bottom Cod/Sea Bass/Blackfish

Capt Steven Jr. reports that we had another good day of fishing on our Block Island bottom trip. Seabassing remains very strong with lots of quality fish coming up. We managed a handful of cod along with some scup in the mix. The black fishing was nothing better then it has been locally with only a couple big fish coming up and a couple shorts. The water is still warm in the tog areas and we are still seeing the small scup and seabass in there as well. Hopefully the togging improves soon but everyone still went home with a good pile of fish.

Wed Nov 2 - Rusty Belly

Capt Steven Jr reports another great day of fishing today! Black fishing was on fire with the first drop and easy limits were had all around within an hour of fishing! We then took a bumpy ride offshore and had another great  day of sea bassing!! In two drops everyone had their limit of LARGE and XL seabass. We had a couple more cod pop up today compared to yesterday. There were a few dogs around to bother us, but not enough to make us move. We have a couple spots open next Tuesday on our open boat trip, but the rest of the week is full! The following week we have some openings so give the office a call to get all the info on upcoming trips!
