Tue Sept 24 to Thurs Sept 26 - 48 Hour Tuna Charter

Capt Steven Jr reports that we had an awesome trip offshore with Bob Sullivan and crew on their annual tuna trip. We stayed chunking the entire trip and had steady pick of fish both day and night. We ended up with 9 quality Yellowfin in the 60-80lb range, 5 Albacore, 1 Swordfish, and 2 Big Eyes weighing in at 135lbs and an impressive 284.5! We marked fish consistently through the day and night and we can’t wait to get back out there!! The Viking Fivestar has a couple openings on our last 2 open boat trips of the year on the October 4th - 48 Hour Tuna and Oct 11th - 36 Hour Tuna trip. We also have a couple open dates prior to Columbus day to put a charter together. The Viking Star also has some room on its upcoming 2 Night Tuna trip on Monday Sept 30. Sat Sept 14 to Sun Sept 15 - 36 Hour Tuna Charter

Capt Steven Jr reports a tough go at it last weekend on our 36 Hour Charter. We fished close to home and managed 4 nice Yellowfin around 60-70lbs on our first day, but the night bite was non existent. The next morning we trolled for a couple hours but didn’t turn anything else up. Hoping the night bite improves this week.

Thurs Sept 12 - Inshore Charter

Capt Derek reports a good morning on the Viking Fivestar. The trip started off good with nice big SeaBass with some jumbo Scup mixed in. We had to make a move when the tide changed and the conditions became difficult with wind against tide. We managed to get quite a few more keeper SeaBass.

Sat Aug 31 to Tue Sept 3 - 3 Day TNT

Capt Steven Jr reports another excellent trip offshore over Labor Day weekend! We got our limit of Yellowfin from 30-80lbs, a decent mess of Golden and Grey Tilefish, with Pollock, Hake and Barrelfish mixed in, a handful of Mahi and a beauty Swordfish that weighed in at 220lbs! Day one we managed 7 nice Yellowfin on the troll and didn’t do any bottom fishing due to the unfavorable conditions. That night we picked a few Yellowfin early and then fought the Sword for a good while. As soon as he was on the deck the Yellowfin attacked! From 3am thru sun up we had non stop action on the bait and jigs with fish jumping all around the boat. Mid morning we got back on the troll and picked a couple small Yellows that we released. we then put in an afternoon of bottom fishing. We still didn’t have ideal conditions, but we managed a nice catch. At sundown the guys were worn out and agreed to go in early rather then fish the second night to play catch and release. Over all another great trip with a good group of guys. Congrats to our regular customer Bruce Wahl who did a hell of a job on the rod with the sword!
With hurricane Dorian coming our way later this week we will not be getting back offshore until the beginning of next week. This break will give us some time for our regular maintenance and a trip to Trophy Fishing Tackle -www.trophytackle.com / www.tunafishtackle.com to load up on chunking tackle!
We have a couple openings on some trips in the end of the month but they are filling up quick! We also have our fall bottom fishing trips starting in October and the weekend trips are filling up fast!! Give us a call at the office for all bookings before it’s too late! (631)668-5700
We also have the new T-shirt’s in at the office, but only in limited numbers and they are going quick! They are $25. You can call us and we will ship it to you for an additional $6.95.
