Sun Dec 22 - Block Island SeaBass/Blackfish/Cod

Capt Steven Jr reports that we took the run offshore again since the fishing around Block has come to an end. We had slower fishing then previous trips but still put an okay day together. There was a decent shot of Seabass with a couple Cod and a few Hake in the mix.

Sat Dec 20 - Block Island SeaBass/Blackfish/Cod

Capt Steven Jr reports that we had to do some traveling, but we put together a good day of fishing in the end. We started by block and after the first 20 minutes of fishing it was obvious that last weeks storm had shut the bite down. So we took a long ride offshore and fished some wrecks with steady action on nice Seabass, a couple cod and some other wreck dwellers. We put in some extra time and ended up being rewarded for it.

Wed Dec 16 - 30 to 50 Mile Wreck Trip

Capt Steven Jr reports that we were able to sneak out Wednesday before the weather came on and put a slammer day together on the offshore wrecks! A swinging load of jumbo Seabass with a couple Cod and some big ling in the mix. We loaded everyone up with fresh fish for the holidays.
We have another 30-50 mile wreck trip next Wednesday with a couple openings and there are some charter dates available for wreck trips before the Seabass season comes to an end. Give us a call and get in on the action.

Fri Dec 11 - Block Island SeaBass/Blackfish/Cod

Capt Steven Jr reports a picky but successful day with some quality Blackfish. The Seabass have made their move offshore with very few fish left inshore. With the lack of Seabass we decided to focus on Blackfish and we chipped away all day on some quality fish with a few hitting double digits. High hook had 14 keepers (orl) and just about everyone had their limit for the day with a couple of Seabass mixed in. As the Seabass move out we are hoping to see the Cod make an appearance to start off our winter season.

Sat Nov 28 - Block Island SeaBass/Blackfish/Cod

Capt Derek reports a little pickier of a bite on the Blackfish grounds than yesterday on the Viking Fivestar. We managed a couple of fish per person, but nothing great. Seabassing was just as good of a showing as yesterday, making up for the slower morning of Blackfishing. Everyone was able to end up with a nice pile of fish to bring home.

Fri Nov 27 - Block Island SeaBass/Blackfish/Cod

Capt Derek reports that we started off Blackfishing and right from the start it was lock and load on the Viking Fivestar. We made three drops and were able to get a boat limit in no time. Then we pushed off to go drift for Seabass. It started slow, but the last spot was lights out double header Seabass. Overall a great day for everyone.

Wed Nov 25 - 30 to 50 Mile Wreck Trip

Capt Steven Jr reports another great day on the offshore wreck with a load of jumbo Seabass and a few Cod on the Viking Fivestar. The wrecks are still polluted with quality Seabass where one drop would make the day, but we had to check out a few others to look for Cod. There was also some jumbo Scup and a couple Ling mixed in. We have added these very popular trips on the schedule for all of December as well. Book now before they are all sold out!! (631)668-5700 or online at vikingfleet.com

Sun Nov 22 - Block Island SeaBass/Blackfish/Cod

Capt Steven Jr reports that on the open boat trip we had less then ideal conditions, but it did not stop us from having a great day of fishing on the Viking Fivestar. We had our usual limit of nice Seabass and the Tog bit pretty well with the given conditions. John Brisciana was high hook for the day with close to 30 keeper Seabass and 10 keeper togs (ORL).

Sat Nov 21 - 30 to 50 Mile Wreck - Charter

Capt Steven Jr reports that we had Lucas and the guys from upstate out on the Viking Fivestar and loaded them up with fillets. We made quick work of the limit of quality Seabass and a handful of Cod and some jumbo Scup. From there we took the ride inshore and had picky action with the Blackfish but had some quality fish to wrap up the day.
