Monday July 29 Afternoon Family Charter

Captain Steven Jr reports a great afternoon of fishing. It was a mixed bag of Montauk bounty! We started out trolling and immediately found some hungry stripers! We had one moo cow on that bent the rod in half but spit the hook and that was the end of that. We also had a few nice sized chompin blues mixed in for some added excitement. Then we switched over and headed west to end up on a pile of sea bass and scup. Then it was non stop action until we left. Brother Marco was the pool winner with a nice 14lb bass on a porgie rig and Uncle Dom with a 4.2 sea bass. Honorable mention to cousin Vinny with a 3.9 porgy, and Paul the porgy slayer with his first montauk catch of scup and sea bass. It was a great day of fishing and back to the dock enjoying the beautiful sunset.

Saturday July 27 Full Day Shark Charter

Overall not a lot of action but we did have 3 makos for the day. The first mako was estimated between 200-225lbs but he put on an air show for us and ended up jumping him off. The second one was around 100 lbs and also jumped off. The third mako we got in the boat after a 15 minute fight and is around the 150lb mark. Will have some pictures to post after we get tied up at the dock.

Friday July 26 Night Striped Bass Charter

We had an excellent night bass fishing tonight ending up just 2 fish shy of limiting out when we called it a trip. Started off with jigs and had a bail job on big blue to get the first blood on the deck for the night. After 1 drift of bending rods we moved on and trolled the wire before sun down and had 2 bass and a couple more blues. From there we switched over to the eels and had great action the rest of the night. Most fish were between 15-18 lbs with one in the upper 20's and one that weighed in at 38 lbs. over all a great night with everyone going home with plenty if meat. Special thanks to Tim O'Rourke for getting a great group of guys together for the trip. We have some openings during the up coming week for day or night trips so give us a call and get in on the action.

48 Hour Offshore Report
We just returned from our first trip to the edge this year looking for the pelagic species. Overall a slow go this time out, the water just broke the 70 degree mark out there last week and had signs of life around but not much as far as tunas. The first day trolling only produced 1 small yellow fin a mahi a couple skip jacks and a big blue marlin estimated around the 400lb mark. The Marlin put a good show on for us jumping over a dozen time coming closer to the boat every time. Come night fall we had tons of squid and dolphins around the boat for the better part of the night but only had a boarder line keeper mako which we released and a few slashed squid baits from a sword. The little mako also put on a good show nearly jumping into the boat on a few leaps. Looks like the water and bait are coming together out there but no body of fish have shown up yet. Hopefully with in the coming weeks things will improve. Until then we do have some openings for this weekend and a couple of offshore split charters open for the next couple weeks.
