Private 24 Hour Tuna Charter

On our way in from a 24 hour tuna charter and we had another awesome trip! We ended up keeping 20 yellows up to 70lbs and released another 20 smaller ones. Also had a nice big eye around 180lbs to top of the trip. Will post some pics when we hit the dock. The bite is on so get in on it before its too late! We have some openings on a couple open boat trips and some charter date available. Also Capt Carl will be starting off the tuna season on the Viking Star this week. Another Epic Tuna Trip for the FiveStar Boys!!!!

On our way in from another great trip offshore. Over 30 yellow fin and 3 nice big eyes. Will post some pics tomorrow before we head back out again for a 24 hr trip.

 

Awesome trip with the crew from Trophy Tackle

We had a slammer trip with all the guys from trophy tackle. Lots of yellow fin and even more big eyes but Id rather repost the charters report then make up my own. Better reports from the deck rather then the wheel house. In the end it was a really good time with an awesome group of guys. Looking forward to doing more of these long range trips!

"We found a few tuna on our trip. Stopped short of our destination when we found a piece of floating debris in the abyss with a huge school of baby bigeyes under it. They ate everything. Jigs. Poppers. It was a blast. Came back to the edge for the end of the trip to catch some nice yellows, albies and about a 130 eyeball. Great trip. Great crew and great boat."- Chris Spies

 

Epic Tuna Trip!

This past week was a busy one for the FiveStar with some excellent tuna fishing! We did two commercial trips with just the three crew members on board, and between both trips, the crew totaled an impressive 41 big eyes! They also had a nice mess of yellow fin and albacore. Most of the yellow fin were smaller and many of them were released.

The third trip this week was a charter with a great group of guys from the city. The day started off with tons of action on the albacore. In the first three hours of fishing, we had 14 fish in the boat! From there on in, the weather didn't shape up and fishing slowed a bit. Half way through the day, the charter had plenty of fish and decided to call it a trip early with the rough weather.

In other news, this upcoming weekend we have another 2 Day Inshore Special that departs on Friday Aug 8th at 1am and returns on Saturday Aug 8th at 6pm. We are looking for a few more people to make this trip a go.

Also later on in the month, we have a 24 hour Wreckfish Special, a 24 hour Tile trip and a 36 hour Tuna trip. Give the office a call at 631-668-5700 for all the details and for reservations.

We also still have available dates for private charters for Tuna Trips for this month, and very few, but some left for September.
