Captain Dave took out the Viking Fivestar on a charter and reports
catching plenty of keepers with a lot of action! We had great weather
and it was a very good day.

2016 Local Cod
The Viking FiveStar is now sailing on split charters for 2016 Local Cod. We will begin sailing everyday (weather permitting) on Monday Jan 11th. We will depart at 4am and return at 4pm with a fare of $240. All trips are limited to 12 people. Reservations are required for this trip.

Captain Steven Sr. reports the Viking FiveStar had a phenomenal day of cod fishing! We had our full boat limit and had to come in early! We started out drifting, but then anchored and had a steady pick all morning. Everyone had full coolers and went home happy. Check in with the office to make your reservations today!

Reports from last weeks trips...
Last Wednesday we had a cod charter and put a nice day together. Things started off slow but as the day went on we chipped away at the market cod and found a few in the mid teens as well. We managed to stay clear of the dogs all day and had fish on bait and jigs. In the end the group went home with some nice bags of fillets.
Thursday and Friday we headed back offshore tuna fishing and put together another great trip! Joe Stavola and friends ended up putting 20 nice yellow fin in the 50-65 lb range in the boat along with a mess of Mahi.

Start of Tuna Season! It's Tuna Time!!!
Viking FiveStar reports from our last two Tuna Trips:
We have had a phenomenal start to the Tuna Season! Our first trip that was earlier in the week was with the guys from Sea Skurge Harpoons. We had tons of action and got to try out some of their new products. We ended up plugging the fish hold with big eyes and yellow fin to the point we had to come in early because we were out of ice and space. If anyone is in the market for a new harpoon or gaffs, check out some of the Sea Skurge gear. Their stuff is very well made and the penetrator dart is amazing! The guys also have some great footage of this trip and we will be posting more photos and videos as soon as we get it.

nice load of yellow fin and big eyes, plus a couple wahoo- one at 60lbs
and the other at 30lbs.

New London Tuna Charter
1/3 of the total catch! Burned up 2-1/2 tons of ice great way to start the season! It's tuna time!!
