April 10 - 2 Day Other Side Tuna / Sword - Port Canaveral, FL

Capt. Steven Jr Reports: Well, we got a chance to get offshore this week, and fish the other side of the stream. We had a pile of gaffer mahi up to 30 lbs, a small black fin tuna, and a nice sword around 90-100 lbs. We did catch and release our first white marlin of 2015.
The birds were no where to be found and neither were the yellow fin. We covered a lot of ocean and never found anything to work on.
Earlier in the week we had another trip with the same lack of birds but we did manage to get a 50 lb yellow fin out of it. At night we got the black fin and we did have another pup sword and a very large model on, that broke the line after twenty minutes.
We will post some pictures from both trips when we get them.

Montauk Boys in Cape Canaveral!

ENUF was ENUF – was had by a bunch of Montauk Boys! Capt Steven and Capt Kenny put a trip together on the Viking Fivestar and it took about 20 mintutes to sell out by word of mouth, and off we went. By flying down on Feb 23rd and returning on Feb 27th this gave us a couple days of nice weather. We landed in Orlando and in 45 minutes we were at the boat in shorts and t-shirts. After getting organized, we left at 3pm and steamed 3 hours. Fishing was on! We fished for mango snapper, be liners, pink porgies, jack’s, triggers. All kinds of stuff! We had red snapper and grouper everywhere we went. Unfortunately they are closed on the East Coast this time of year. For some ridiculous reason it was hard to stay away from them, but they were fun to catch and throw back to be caught again! Red Snapper to 25lbs, Gag Grouper to 25lbs All Released!! We did manage a nice mess of fish to bring back for show and tell. We only got to fish for 36 hours before the weather turned on us with 25 to 30 NE. So we headed in to enjoy the warm weather before we had to head home on Friday. We did manage to sneak in a little land fun with miniature golf and go-cart racing. A good time was had by all. Thanks Steve O!

Sat Nov 15th Rusty Belly Private Charter

Had another great rusty belly trip today. It only took one drop black fishing and everyone had a limit of nice togs with a lots of quality sized fish. From there we shot offshore a couple hours early so we made our way out to coxes ledge for cod and sea bass. We had plenty of sea bass with a good shot of bigger fish. Had a couple cod on each drop but only ended up with a handful of them. By the end of the trip the guys put together a very nice catch and went home with a load of fillets.

Oct 31 Block Island Cod/ Sea Bass/ Blackfish

Well yesterday's trip started of excellent and we ended up with a load of big sea bass and around 60 keeper cod. The later half of the day we tried black fishing around block and in all honesty it sucked! Tried a hand full of drops for only a couple good sized fish. Its just not ready down that way. Still a lot of sea bass in the shallower water. Black fishing has been good closer to home for us, so might have to change our zone for them next week.
