Fri July 16 to Sun July 18 - 48 Hour Tuna

Capt Steven Jr reports that our first 48hr Tuna trip of the year was a slammer trip with a nice shot of Yellow Fin to 109 lbs and 10 Big Eye from 140 lbs up to 220lbs!! We started off with a pick of small and medium size Yellows in the beginning of the day and then just before noon we went 4 for 5 on Big Eyes. The afternoon was quiet until sundown when we got the big Yellow Fin and shortly after we went 6 for 6 on Big Eye again. After that the guys were all worn out and we wrapped the trip up a few hours early. We are headed back out this afternoon hoping we can do it again.

Mon July 12 to Thurs July 15 - 3 Day Captain's Choice

Capt Steven Jr reports that we finally got offshore after losing the last few trip to weather and had an excellent trip off to the deep. On the pelagic side we ended up with 26 Yellow Fin, 2 Bluefin, 2 Albacore, a pile of big Mahi and a nice Big Eye weighing in at 200.5 lbs!! Bottom fishing we put a nice load of quality Tiles up to 38 lbs and a couple Barrelfish, Hake and Grey Tile mixed in. Overall a great trip with a fun group of guys that went home with a load of fish.

Fri June 11 to Sunday June 13 - Nantucket Fluke Charter

Capt Steven Jr reports a slammer trip on the Nantucket grounds with a full load of QUALITY Fluke up to 12.4lbs! We had pretty steady action throughout the trip with only a few slower periods when the tide was changing. We were lucky enough to send 7 guys home with their new personal best fluke!! Overall a great trip with with a great group of guys.

Tue June 8 to Thurs June 10 - 2 Day Tile/Fluke

Capt Steven Jr reports a late report from our Tile and Fluke trip last week. We had slammer Tile fishing with fish up to 44lbs and slower then average Fluking, but still had fish to 9 lbs. Due to the weather we had to shorten up the trip by a day and we had to skip the Cod fishing. We started off in the deep on the first day and had a pick early in the day that turned into solid action of quality Golden and Grey Tiles with a handful of Hake mixed in. From there we steamed overnight to the Fluke grounds and had tough condition with wind against tide, but still put together a decent catch of quality Fluke. At the end of the trip everyone had a nice load of fillets to take home. Tile fishing has been excellent and the warm water is moving up on the bank so we have added a 3 Day Tuna and Tile trip to the schedule departing June 28th at 3pm. We have NO openings on tile trips for the rest of the year so this is your last chance to get on a trip for 2021! As far as the remainder of the offshore schedule we have a couple openings on 1 Tuna trip in August and 2 Tuna trips in September.

5/14-5/16 - 2 Day Tile/Cod

Capt Steven Jr reports after a long winter and spring of maintenance we finally got back out on our first offshore trip of 2021. We had excellent fishing in the deep on day one and a slow second day on the cod wrecks. On the first day we tried fishing a new area and found a load of big Tiles up to 38lbs with a couple Barrelfish popping up as well. Later in the day we jumped around and had steady action with Tiles and saw a mix of Grey Tiles, Hake, Pollock and a few more Barrelfish. By the end of the day everyone had a nice load of deep water bottom dwellers. Day two we fished the Cod wrecks on George’s and only found a handful of Cod on each wreck with a bunch of huge Cunners. Luckily the great day we had in the deep made up for the second slower day of fishing and everyone went home with a load of fillets.
We have a few more multi day Offshore trips to come before summer on the Viking Fivestar and the Viking Starship. Openings are very limited so get booked before it’s too late! Availability and trip info can be found at vikingfleet.com or by calling the office at 631-668-5700.
