Wed Dec 11 - 30 to 50 Mile Wreck Trip
Capt Steven Jr reports a very tough day of fishing the wrecks. We started deeper and had blizzard like conditions. We managed a few big SeaBass, but we didn't have the numbers we have been seeing. We worked our way inshore where there were better conditions, but slower fishing. Overall a rough and tough day.

Sun Dec 8 - Block Island Cod/Sea Bass/ Blackfish Private Charter
Capt Steven Jr reports a tough day overall on the Viking Fivestar. We had picky fishing most of the day until the end where we had a good shot at Sea Bass and Cod. We started off Blackfishing and it was very quiet with only a handful of small fish and a couple Cod. We didn't find anything to work on until the end of the day when everyone on board got a bunch of Sea Bass. We did see a few Cod everywhere we went so things are looking good for Cod this Winter. Our next trip out is Wednesday December 11th, a 30-50 mile wreck trip and the weather is looking perfect. We only have 2 spots open on this popular trip....so give us a call at 631-668-5700 to reserve your spot.
Sat Dec 7 - Block Island Cod and Sea Bass
Capt Derek reports a rough start to the day on the Viking Fivestar with heavy wind conditions. We had a steady pick of Cod and Sea Bass throughout the day. The last drop of the day was the best with quality Sea Bass, big green Cod and jumbo Porgies. High hook was Brian Martin with 7 Cod.

Sun Dec 1 - Block Island Cod & Sea Bass
Capt Steven Jr reports that we had a picky but very productive day on the Viking Fivestar with a nice improvement in the Cod and some XL Blackfish as an added bonus. We never had crazy action but everyone ended up with their limit of Sea Bass, a couple Cod each and a few guys managed a limit of Blackfish. The Cod were healthy green fish and a few bigger ones were loaded up with roe. Hoping this is the beginning of a new body of fish moving in the the area. We also had some Scup, Mackerel and Pollock in the mix. We are looking forward to getting back out and doing some searching around for the Cod especially since the dogfish have continued to thin out in deeper water. Mark Fisher had his Tog limit with the biggest at 12.1 lbs along with another around 8lbs. Patrick Havlik had a pair of Cod in the teens along with a limit of nice Tog and a load of Sea Bass.
We have a few open boat trips and Charter dates available for December. You can see full schedule at vikingfleet.com and you can book online or over the phone at (631)668-5700
