36 Hour Tuna Report

We had another decent tuna trip this week. We ended up with 2 nice yellowfins, 2 albacore, a bunch of nice mahi mahi and we raised 5 white marlin. The night bite still isn't going yet, but the troll has been keeping us busy!

Tuna fishing remains slow after our last couple trips there has been a lot of life around but no numbers of tuna. We have seen a couple albacore and yellow fin around but not many. We did had good numbers of quality mahi a hand full of white Marlin and some wahoo. We are hoping to see an improvement in the fishing after this full moon.

36 Hour Tuna- Viking Fivestar
Capt Steven Sr reports that we ended up putting a decent trip together considering how tuna fishing has been way off. We covered a lot of ocean and only found 1 yellow fin. We did however find a nice mixed bag of pelagics. We ended up with 25 BIG mahi with a few around 20lbs, 3 nice wahoo and 9 fat little pup swordfish. So despite the slow tuna bite everyone ended up going home with a variety of excellent fish.

24 Hour Tuna Report

We just got in last night from an good 24 hr tuna trip! With the questionable weather reports and slow canyon reports we fished inshore and put a good trip together. We had our limit of blue fins and picked up a couple smaller yellow fin. We played catch and release with a bunch of over 47" blue fin in the later half of the trip.

First Epic Tuna Trip of 2016!

We had a great start to an early tuna season! It was our first trip of the 2016 season and it was a good one for the books and things look like they are heating up! We had some really nice yellowfins, 1 big eye, a couple albacore and a nice pile of mahi mahi! We are impatiently waiting for our next trip!

The first trip is at 48 Hour Tuna trip and will depart on Wed Aug 3rd at 3pm and return on Fri Aug 5th at 3pm with a fare of $950 per person. There are 8 spots available.

Sat March 12 Local Cod report

Captain Dave took out the Viking Fivestar on a charter and reports catching plenty of keepers with a lot of action! We had great weather and it was a very good day.

2016 Local Cod

The Viking FiveStar is now sailing on split charters for 2016 Local Cod. We will begin sailing everyday (weather permitting) on Monday Jan 11th. We will depart at 4am and return at 4pm with a fare of $240. All trips are limited to 12 people. Reservations are required for this trip.

Captain Steven Sr. reports the Viking FiveStar had a phenomenal day of cod fishing! We had our full boat limit and had to come in early! We started out drifting, but then anchored and had a steady pick all morning. Everyone had full coolers and went home happy. Check in with the office to make your reservations today!
