Chuck Timson TNT Charter

Five Star TNT Chuck Timson Charter
Captain Steven Jr reports we returned early this morning from our first tuna tile trip of the year and had an excellent trip! We did some early morning trolling and chunking at night for tunas but mostly focused on the tiles. We had a dozen small yellow and white marlin on the troll that we released and 4 better sized fish on the chunk at night. Tile fishing was excellent! We started off putting a good pile of small to medium sized fish on the boat then we went searching for some large models. We were rewarded with 8 slobs from 30-45 lbs. We also had a handful of wreckfish, a couple hake and 2 totes of Pollack. By yesterday afternoon we had a pile of fish on the boat which was more than enough for the 6 guys on board so we called it a trip. We are looking forward to setting back out to the deep later this week. We do have a couple open dates for charters and some spots on the open boat trip this month but space is limited. Give us a call at the office and get booked before they all sell out!

July 6- 2 Day Inshore Special

We just got tied up in Block Island after our first day of our 2 day inshore special trip. We spent most of the day cod fishing and put together a nice pile of market sized cod for everyone. The day started of with decent action but a lot of short fish, as the day when on our keeper ratio and action improved. Most guys averaged 5-6 keepers a man and high hook was 9. The biggest cod was around 25lbs. After cod fishing we worked inshore to do some fluke fishing to end the day but a weak drift made for slow fishing with only a few small fish coming up. But we have all day tomorrow to target the fluke and some bass as we fish our way back to Montauk. Until then everyone is going to enjoy a nice night on Block Island.

The second day of our 2 Day Inshore Special went well. We started off fluking and had steady action that improved as the day went on. By the middle of the day we ended up with a little over 20 keeper fluke. From there we headed back to the point and tried some bass fishing. We had a nice bass on the first drift as the tide slowed down. We only had a couple more bites and then a nice mix of porgies. Overall it was a great trip and everyone went home with some nice bags of fillets!

Viking FiveStar Montauk, NY Charter Schedule Update

We have a couple of special offshore charters out of Montauk coming up that have a couple of openings on them! On both trips, like all trips on the Viking FiveStar, everything is included and both of these trips are limited to 10 guys for extra comfort. Both of the guys running the charters are great guys that have done multiple successful charters with us. They always make it an enjoyable experience.
The first trip is John Viol's Slob Tile Hunt which is June 26th to June 28th. This trip we will be fishing the far east canyons looking primarily for the XXL sized Tiles and will also expect to be catching Wreck fish, Barrel fish, Cod, Pollock, Hake, Cusk and all the other creatures we usually find in the deep.
The second trip is Tommy Alexopoulos' Cultivators Fluke trip. This trip is July 10th to July 12th and will be targeting giant fluke and cod fish 160 miles east of Montauk on Georges banks. In the past couple years these trips to this area we have had fluke to 14.5 lbs, halibut to 35 lbs and cod fishing has typically good to excellent this time of year.
For more info on these or any of our other up coming trips this summer give us a call at our office. (631)668-5700.

April 10 - 2 Day Other Side Tuna / Sword - Port Canaveral, FL

Capt. Steven Jr Reports: Well, we got a chance to get offshore this week, and fish the other side of the stream. We had a pile of gaffer mahi up to 30 lbs, a small black fin tuna, and a nice sword around 90-100 lbs. We did catch and release our first white marlin of 2015.
The birds were no where to be found and neither were the yellow fin. We covered a lot of ocean and never found anything to work on.
Earlier in the week we had another trip with the same lack of birds but we did manage to get a 50 lb yellow fin out of it. At night we got the black fin and we did have another pup sword and a very large model on, that broke the line after twenty minutes.
We will post some pictures from both trips when we get them.

Montauk Boys in Cape Canaveral!

ENUF was ENUF – was had by a bunch of Montauk Boys! Capt Steven and Capt Kenny put a trip together on the Viking Fivestar and it took about 20 mintutes to sell out by word of mouth, and off we went. By flying down on Feb 23rd and returning on Feb 27th this gave us a couple days of nice weather. We landed in Orlando and in 45 minutes we were at the boat in shorts and t-shirts. After getting organized, we left at 3pm and steamed 3 hours. Fishing was on! We fished for mango snapper, be liners, pink porgies, jack’s, triggers. All kinds of stuff! We had red snapper and grouper everywhere we went. Unfortunately they are closed on the East Coast this time of year. For some ridiculous reason it was hard to stay away from them, but they were fun to catch and throw back to be caught again! Red Snapper to 25lbs, Gag Grouper to 25lbs All Released!! We did manage a nice mess of fish to bring back for show and tell. We only got to fish for 36 hours before the weather turned on us with 25 to 30 NE. So we headed in to enjoy the warm weather before we had to head home on Friday. We did manage to sneak in a little land fun with miniature golf and go-cart racing. A good time was had by all. Thanks Steve O!
