2 Day Inshore Special - Viking Fivestar
We started of on Coxes and
had much slower fishing then we had on our last trip down there. Full
moon tides made the drift so quick that 20 oz of lead was tough to hold
bottom, so we left the cod grounds early and headed inshore to Block to
go fluking. After a couple of drifts we got a good drift going and had
phenomenal fishing. Mostly keepers and quality fish up to 7.9 lbs. By
the end of the afternoon we had around 40 keepers for just the afternoon
of fishing. From there we headed into
Block Island and tied up for the night allowing everyone to go out for
dinner and drinks. The next morning we headed out and started off sea
bassing and got a quick load of nice fish, we then headed off fluking.
We got back to where we were fishing the day before but couldn't get a
drift going with wind against tide. We bounced our way from Block back
to Montauk fluking and picking a few fish here and there, along with a
couple more seabass. We also kept a handful of jumbo porgies. After that
we went striped bass fishing and had a couple bass and some blues but
nothing great. By the end of the trip everyone had a good pile of fish
to go home with. We have another one of these over nighters going this
up coming weekend and we have some open spots so give the office a call
and jump on!
